The Mentor explores a dark, interesting, and desire filled room of a "get rich quick" seminar. Hosted by a flamboyant, narcissistic, misogynist named Kent Rowland. A young man, Michael, is intrigued by Kent's performance on stage and blinded by the false light. We journey with Michael through his visit to the seminar room with Kent and discover exactly where his acquired greed takes him.

I had the opportunity to travel and witness many public speakers in this space whose intentions were nothing but sinister. Working on the back end as a videographer, I hold testimony to the dense energy felt during a live "sell-a-thon". It ain't pretty! 

 

We wanted to share with an audience the feelings of anxiety, hatred, and hope that manifest during a well done presentation from a tactful speaker. Justin Mane's performance was incredible for this film. The character is nothing short of a modern real-life villain.

Adam Wright, Chief Editor & Michael Jones in the film, also did a fantastic job at transferring the feelings of loneliness, desperateness, and anger towards the character. I can also relate to his character as I've seen so many with the same polarizing look on their face during one of these talks. 

​

I would love to explore more of the backstory of Kent, where Michael goes with his longer term arc, and deliver a larger-than-life production in the future with a full-length feature for this film. I could write for days regarding this subject as it is unfortunately/fortunately with me forever.

It is my hope that the audience feels the emotions of the character, craves more story, and is ultimately entertained by this production. Thank you for viewing!
